Sample Letter to College Coaches (please customize)
In order to attract interest in your level of play, you need to take the first steps in researching colleges for academic, social, and last athletic fit. You should also discuss with your family location of school (New England versus California as an example). In addition, think about the type of campus you may enjoy from rural to city there are varying pros and cons to college location. You have to do your homework prior to contacting college coaches as they want to know you have a true desire to learn more about the campus and the program.
Dear Coach (Coach's Name):
My name is (your name, class year, NPL Impact Club Team and year) at (name of high school) in (town), (State). I am interested in attending (name of college) because of your (brief reason for interest in academic program and soccer program EX: fine business management program as well as your soccer program). (Add other reasons of why you might be interested. Example: My sister, Janice Martin, is currently a junior there, so I have visited the school several times and have been able to see your team play three different times).
I will be playing in the IMPACT NPL IMPACT Cup College Showcase on Saturday, May 15th at Woburn High School (88 Montvale Ave, Woburn, MA) from game time(s). (Change date as needed)
I would greatly appreciate it if you would evaluate me during this event. I am very interested in learning more about your school and how I can help your program succeed.

2. Do your research, visit website, take a virtual tour
3. Create a website or 1 page player profile with all your information and any highlights
4. Email coaches using the provided template.
After a coach attends event or you attend their events:
1. Write a thank you email to any coaches you invited include the link to film or highlights.
2. Include in your note any details for future games and/or visit to campus.
3. Ask for feedback from the event if they did attend.
